Dark Souls Remastered was originally announced for the Switch in January. Since its release, the remaster has been crushing it on consoles; all except the Switch, the red headed step child of the gaming world. The title was supposed to be landing on the Switch by the end of summer. Then a little longer. Then, basically, "it's coming when it's coming" that didn't make anyone happy, with the excuse that, "[they] needed to make sure Nintendo Switch players can fully appreciate the true ‘Dark Souls’ experience anytime and anywhere, thanks to the unique portable nature of the Nintendo Switch console.”
Now, we've got a date: October 19th of this year.
The console remaster for Xbox and PS4 was ported by the Polish studio QLOC, but the Switch version was ported by Virtuos, so we'll see if the quality stands across the board as far as the remaster. All console versions will support 1–6 players in online mode, and the game runs at 30 FPS when docked, sports a smooth 1080 resolution, but it drops to 720p when going into handheld mode. The remaster throws in the Artorias of the Abyss DLC which is pretty much praised by everyone across the board.
Your time to die is coming, friends and neighbors. And that is definitely a good thing.
