This Resident Evil remake has people pumped, and it's not just fans of remakes who are thrilled; there are a lot of Resident Evil fans who are having trouble containing their excitement as well. The upcoming remake will be using Capcom's proprietary RE engine for the title, and there will be new puzzles and areas alongside the new graphics and audio, plus an over the shoulder camera, just like RE 4,5 and 6. Players will once again control rookie police officer Leon S. Kennedy and college student Claire Redfield, who are jammed together by a disastrous outbreak in Raccoon City that turns everyone into flesh-eating zombies. Both Leon and Claire have their own separate playable campaigns, allowing players to see the story from both characters' perspectives. We've already seen some footage and pictures of Leon, but we've had nothing on Claire thus far.
But now, showcased at gamescom for the first time today, players can see how Claire Redfield is shaping up as she searches for her missing brother, Chris Redfield of RE1 fame.. As she arrives in Raccoon City, she's thrown into the middle of a zombie outbreak and barely manages to find "safety" in the Raccoon City Police Station. As she tries to survive, she finds Sherry Birkin, a young girl abandoned in the underground area beneath the police station. Now she's got a kid to take care of. Great.
Check out the screen shots below, and let me know in the comments what you think about Claire's new look.
