Marvel's new Spider-Man title is only a few weeks away, and it keeps looking better and better. This video is a smart little piece of world building, incorporating J.Jonah Jameson's hatred for the wall crawler into a showcase of sorts for Spider-Man's talents and attacks, even showing off the skill tree you'll use to upgrade the hero.
Insomniac has already announced that at this point, Parker has been fighting crime for eight years, so we won't have some annoying origin story, or beginning when Spider-Man isn't that good at combat; you start the game as an already extremely formidable version of Spidey. You'll already have access to an impressive amount of powers and web-based attacks straight out of the gate, and the web powers are looking like a lot of fun, from web-balls to quick shot web-bursts, and you can also overwhelm an enemy with a bunch of webbing to incapacitate him. The web-combat really shines when you use the uppercut, knocking an enemy up into the air, then jumping up after him, hitting him with a combination of web-strikes, kicks and punches. It looks like a lot of fun, and it appears there will be a ton of web and fist/foot combos, with a lot of environmental attacks thrown in as well. There's also a mention of Spidey's scientific skills as he controls the Superior Spider-Man-esque Spider drones that can fly, explode and attack enemies at your command.
Spider-Man will be available on September 7th of this year, and you can check out the official site here.
