A brand new chapter in the Two Worlds series, called Echoes of the Dark Past 2 is arriving this week, and we are stoked. Here at DLH, we've always had a soft spot for the Two Worlds series; the last DLC entry in the franchise was the Call of the Tenebrae (read our review, here) and here's what our reviewer had to say:
"Call of the Tenebrae is a solid successor to Pirates of the Flying Fortress and a great way to whet the appetite of fans of the Two Worlds series. There has been a dearth of action RPG titles in the past couple of years, and this latest DLC certainly scratches that itch. If you are looking for a story with light-hearted fun and a solid amount of combat, check out Two Worlds II: Call of the Tenebrae. You won’t be disappointed."
The sheer variety of weapons, cards, spells and quests this series has in spades has always kept us coming back, and the intentional humor of the writing is charming in a strange way. In short, we like the series quite a bit, and this announcement has us pumped to see what this new multiplayer chapter has in store for us, called Echoes of the Dark Past 2, which TopWare is calling the "first non-linear multiplayer experience in the Two Worlds series."
Here's the release:
"Caught in the middle of a bloody war for mystical, ancient artifacts, players will unlock new maps and story events depending on their in-game alliances. New friends will help players take down dangerous old foes as they struggle to manage shifting partnerships, where the victors will wield talismans of unimaginable power… and the losers will die in the dust!"
Echoes of the Dark Past 2 will feature the biggest maps ever seen in the series, new fighting tactics, brand new weapons and armor (including weapons and armor from the last single-player DLC, Call of the Tenebrae), new enemies, like desert demons and evil mages who will try to kick your ass at long range, a new, 17 track musical score, and you can experience the whole game from two different points of view, and depending on which allies you make (or spurn) in-game. Basically, depending on who you ally with you'll experience new paths, or have others blocked, increasing replay.
Two Worlds II Season Pass holders will automatically receive this new DLC, and the rest of you can check it out here, on Steam. Read up on all the new features here.
