Castlevania Season 2 will premiere on Netflix on Oct. 26 with eight new episodes, double the amount that they gave Warren Ellis on the first season. If you haven't watched it, go watch it; it's great, and the most complained about aspect of the show was usually how little of it there was. But after the first season was such a hit with critics and fans, they are paying out a little more rope for Ellis to really nail the story arc he began in season one, which was mostly world-building and set-up for this season's confrontation with Dracula.
The synopsis of season one is pretty much the following: after burning Dracula's wife at the stake for being a witch (she wasn't), Count Vlad Dracula Tepes declares all the people of Wallachia will pay with their lives. He gives em a year to think it over, which the people use to pretend Dracula isn't really pissed (spoiler alert, he totally is). Dracula then summons an army of monsters and demons, and you know how monster and demons do; yeah, they overrun the country, bumming everyone out, and causing the over zealous zealots in the church to start doing more dumb shit, like burning fake witches. To combat all of this, the disgraced monster hunter Trevor Belmont takes up arms against Dracula's forces, aided by the magician Sypha Belnades and Dracula's dhampir son Alucard. The table is set, season 2 will be time to eat.
Castlevania season 2 is headed our way, here's the first poster for the upcoming 8 episode season.
