If you can't wait until Southpark's new season hits, Ubisoft might have the answer for you, provided that you have a Switch. South Park: The Stick of Truth will be hitting the Nintendo Switch on September 25, 2018.
If you haven't played this (or the stellar sequel, The Fractured But Whole), it's the real deal, written and directed by Trey Parker and Matt Stone and developed by Ubisoft San Francisco. When SP:TSOT arrived in 2014, it was a pleasant surprise for South Park fans and RPG lovers in general, winning a slew of awards and capturing the humor of the show perfectly. It's a genuinely solid title, although your mileage will definitely vary depending on how much you like the humor of Parker and Stone.
The title follows the kids on an epic, role-playing quest, where the kids are basically playing Game Of Thrones. According to the game, a battle has been raging between humans and elves for thousands of years, and is coming to a head due to the arrival of the "New Kid" (you). You'll get to interact with all your favorite characters from the show, like Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny, plus most of South Park's auxiliary characters in addition to a slew of cameos.
Here's what our reviewer had to say back in 2014, who scored the game an 89%:
I was pleasantly surprised with South Park: The Stick of Truth. In all the years I’ve played video games, I have never seen an adaptation of a TV show made with such love and attention to detail. The kind of bizarre scenarios and ridiculous situations the developers have created here is really something unique, and will no doubt have many gamers talking. They could have offered a bit more in terms of gameplay, but then again they’ve got to leave some room open for a sequel, which I’ll be looking forward to.
