I suppose if you are into fluff and whatnot, this is a good thing, but for the rest of us who are looking for new characters or gameplay tweaks, this is not as exciting.
Announced on twitter, each player can now connect their account to the upcoming Dojo Mode, giving you access to the new dojo stage, which you can customize to your fighting heart's content. Dojo's are going to function a little like a hub. If you want to, say, only play against casual players, you can do so through dojos. Dojo's can be given a name, an emblem, a little "welcome to the dojo" line of text, and you can customize a ton of other features in addition to dressing it up. You will also be known as "Grand Master" if it's your dojo, which is kinda rad.
Players will also be able to work together to grab up "Dojo Points" improving your dojo's ranking, and the "best" dojos will get rewards, although what those will entail we aren't yet sure. Read the official announcement below.

Every player who syncs their account on the official Shadaloo C.R.I. website and joins a dojo will receive the Dojo stage for free! This meditative stage reflects the look of a traditional dojo with an open area, wooden accents, and rays of light shining through. Although seemingly simple, the Dojo stage is unique in that it can be customized to fit your personal aesthetic.
