Personally, I don't get down with Alexa. Call me paranoid (and some have), but I don't buy the whole, "It only listens when you talk to it," mainly because, how the hell does it know when I'm talking to it without listening all the time? Yeah. Think about it.
Still, if I had one, I might be tempted to get this free download, because it actually looks pretty funny. Ubisoft just announced that the Assassin's Creed Odyssey Spartan Skill for Amazon Alexa (that's a hell of a sentence) is available now for free, although it won't kick in until the game launches on October 5th (or October 2nd for those who pre-ordered the gold edition). The app will change Alexa's voice to Alexios, a character from the upcoming Assassin's Creed Odyssey, with some comical results.
Spartan Skill basically does everything Alexa normally does, but it will bring some new functionality to your big brother device, like providing you with some historical background information about up to 300 in-game locations. For example, if you say "Tell me about Epidaurus," you'll learn that "Epidaurus was strategically placed between Athens and Argos as an entry point for pilgrims. They would travel from all over Greece to the nearby healing sanctuary of Asklepios." There are also some humorous questions and answers, but I'll let you watch the video so I don't spoil the comedic timing.
Once you get yours, just say, "Alexa, open the Spartan" then ask your question for Spartan themed answers.
