Fury Unleashed has a ton going for it. Based in a comic book world, the game seems to combine a bit of Metal Slug with Contra for a familiar amount of ultraviolence. You play a comic book hero who is trapped in a world where things are going wrong in the comic book multiverse and must set it right. The game looks like a blast, but as soon as we saw it in Early Access, the lack of co-op made no sense. Why? WHY?
Luckily, the devs felt the same (or heard our wailing) and have unveiled a co-op mode with their latest update, and that's not all that's getting revamped. There are new tunes composed by Adam Skorupa and Krzysztof Wierzynkiewicz (Witcher 2), new random secrets, a special golden ink you can get by killing enemies or being a Destructive Fury on a given level (ink is basically in-game currency), new "elite" enemies, who are not as strong as bosses, but tougher than regular opponents, new NPCs, and the local and online co-op.
Get your friends ready for carnage and get to it, this bad boy is currently available on Steam Early Access, but the game will launch simultaneously on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch in early 2019.
