According to the Wall Street Journal, Nintendo Co. plans to release a new version of the Swtich next year in an attempt to boost sales, which have fallen off since the console blew everyone's mind when it first launched. Also, with Zelda and a few other big name titles behind it, and no immediate dates for the next games in the series, things have cooled for Switch sales.
According to the WSJ, the upcoming model would “likely share many features with the current version and be compatible with existing Switch game software,” which is a fancy way of not really saying anything at all, but it goes on to say more nothing, claiming Nintendo is "...debating what new hardware and software features to include in the upgrade,” which is mind-numbing in its obviousness. The only other piece of news is that the updated console isn’t expected to adopt the OLED panels used in Apple’s iPhone X series
