I love the idea of this series all friggin day long. Everything about it looks and sounds like it should have been the human response to the Xenomorphs after Alien. You play as the space marine terminators (yeah, super badass name), who are genetically modified super soldiers wearing tank-like heavy armor and equipped with hardcore, overwhelming firepower that turns them into deadly, walking arsenals. Opposing them (foolishly) are the Genestealers, disgusting inhabitants of the floating, smashed-together starships called space hulks, hiding inside every pipe and duct, every nook and cranny, ready to rend and tear anything that comes near em.
Yeah. The world is like a cross between Starship troopers, Alien and StarCraft. It's awesome.
This time around (there are like 20 games) there's a new card system that gives players greater control over their forces, while two non-linear, narrative-driven campaigns tell an all-new story, and a full-on customization system is available across four Space Marine chapters and four Genestealer Hive Fleets, which lets you design your forces down to their boots. There's also a prety robust mission editor, inspired by the board game, so you can design, share, and play your own maps with your homies.
Watch this epic launch trailer below, and keep an eye out on October 9th for the full release.
