Bandai Namco has slowly been doling out info on their monster slaying action-RPG ahead of the upcoming GE3 demo, and this latest is pretty exciting. According to Bandai, God Eater 3will feature a unique mission mode called Assault Mission, which will allow players to join up in teams of eight and work together to take down a powerful monster. God Eater 2 only allowed for 4 player co-op, so doubling the number would double the monster slaying insanity when it launches in 2019 for PS4 and Steam.

In addition to the doubled co-op player potential, God Eater 3 will also allow players to double wield weapons, which is a first for the series. Watch the video below, the 8 man co-op insanity starts at about 21 and a half minutes in, so you can see how the mode will work, and how teams will form. Here's the official synopsis below, God Eater 3 releases in Japan on December 13, 2018 for PlayStation 4, and it will drop in the West on PS4 and PC sometime in 2019.

"Earth no longer resembles the home we know of now. The Aragami, terrifying beasts that live only to consume, are carving a path of destruction and misery wherever they are encountered. To combat this threat an elite group of heroes known as God Eaters are called upon to save humanity. God Eaters are individuals who have been bestowed upon them the ability to wield powerful new God Arcs, special weapons powered by Oracle Cells and the only known weapons capable of destroying the monstrous Aragami. However, another mission is coming into focus; something is happening to the God Eaters and the line between light and dark has never been so thin. It’s time to start breaking free from the cursed shackles that bind the souls of the God Eaters as the battle rages on around them."
