Marvel Vs. Capcom Players Say

After getting the snub at major fighting tournaments this year, Marvel Vs. Capcom players have decided to say screw it and set up their own. We just did an article on what the hell is wrong with this game (in short, kind of a lot), and how the title has been excluded from tournaments, while popular fighters like Street Fighter V, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Tekken 7 and Guilty Gear continue to kick ass and draw players. Now, that's changing, albeit in a unofficial way.

This is pretty much the first real competition (besides the "Battle of the Stones Championship) for the game, and it's being brought together by Noah “SwoleBadguy” Klumpp, who decided he'd just organize his own tourney, called "Fate of Two Worlds". Sure, there isn't any Monster energy drink or Hot Pocket big name brands supporting it, and there will most likely not be any big  network coverage, but who cares? These guys just want to beat the hell out of each other.

As told to Kotaku, Noah had this to say about the tournament and offline play: “We have a small community and Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite in particular has fantastic netcode,” Klumpp explained. “I wanted to give extra incentive to players to not just play the games, but also get out there in the real world and interact with the community face to face. There’s no denying the fact that offline play builds bigger and more involved communities, and I wanted to help bolster the reason to get off your couch and get out there.”

We'll see how the tourney comes together, but if anyone can pull it together, it's the rabid Marvel fanbase; they already made their own impromptu tourney after getting the shaft at this year’s Evolution Championship Series, where they piled into the "bring your own console" space and beat the hell out of each other without Capcom's blessing or support. At the end of the day, it just depends on how badly you want to kick someone's ass digitally.
