First announced back in August, The Waylanders' development team at Gato Salvaje Studio have been working to get their action RPG on kickstarter, and that day is today. What makes this interesting (besides the time travel elements, of course) is that former Bioware lead, Mike Laidlaw is on board as a creative consultant. This is a guy who was been mixed up in some amazing titles, like Dragon Age: Origins, Jade Empire and Mass Effect, and that alone has this title on my radar.
The Waylanders is a fantasy RPG, and the video below will show you a bit of this party-based title that will have you time traveling between the Celtic and Medieval eras, which hasn't exactly been done to death in past games. Another cool mechanic is that choices made in one time period can have horrible consequences in the other, meaning players will feel the impact of their decisions in surprising ways in the future. Another major feature is the inclusion of combat formations for their battle system. Fusing combatants together into a combined, more powerful character will offer a ton of variety, plus the combination of tactics when approaching conflict should be pretty robust as well.
Waylanders is aiming for a $150,000 USD, and you can check out more here.
