Spyro, much like Crash Bandicoot, is the product of an earlier age. Games like Spyro, Aero the Acrobat, Bubsy and Crash Bandicoot were big back in the day, but things have kind of fallen off for the purple, fiery dragon and his friends, and fans have largely moved on. But now, maybe with the addition of tons of old school remakes, remasters and throwback titles, we'll see new adventures from old school favorites like Spyro, and how better to gauge interest than this new compilation? That's right, Spyro's back, he's in HD, and you can catch up on three of his past adventures in one easy package, the Spyro Reignited Trilogy. You get the original three games, Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage! and Spyro: Year of the Dragon, all tarted up and remastered.
Originally developed by Insomniac Games for the PlayStation and released from 1998 to 2000, they announced this release right after the release of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, which was a similar collection of remasters of the first three Crash Bandicoot titles that Activision also published. Time will tell if this is as big a hit as the Crash collection was, but in the meantime, check out the trailer below and see if you wanna get mixed back up in Spyro's world.
