Don't get me wrong; set to the tune of Wouldn't It Be Nice?, this live-action trailer is well done, and features some recognizable actors, like ol pinata head Glen from the Walking Dead. The scenarios are whimsical and fun, and the monster-gorgon-beast at the end looks like a formidable fight, but these commercials never do a whole lot for me. It doesn't make me want to play the game more, since it hardly has anything to do with the game at all, besides everyone wearing a pip-boy. Still, it's entertaining and definitely worth a watch.
Set in a "new and wild wasteland in the heart of West Virginia," the world of Fallout 76 is larger than any before it. The game starts on Reclamation Day, 2102, twenty-five years after the bombs fell, and you and your fellow vault dwellers, all of whom were chosen from the nation's best and brightest, emerge into a post-nuclear America. From here, you know the drill; it's Fallout 101, only this go around you can play solo or hook up with friends and strangers to conquer the wasteland together as you explore, quest, build, and blast everything that comes your way.
If you're interested, the next Fallout 76 B.E.T.A. session is October 30 from 7-11 p.m. ET on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
We'll see if a MMO Fallout 76 is what everyone actually wanted when it launches on November 14th.
