Devil May Cry 5 is looking to avoid the hair-product, coiffed idiocy of the DMC reboot and go straight back to where the series was when we left it, and I think it's a great move. DMC 4 was my favorite in the series, and to jump ship after introducing a new game mechanic and a brand new protagonist was a head scratching move at best. Now that the series is back on track, we're getting more and more info on the upcoming title everyday, and this week is no different. At Microsoft's X018 event, Devil May Cry 5 brought in their producer Matt Walker and the game director Hideaki Itsuno ato talk a bit about Void Mode, a mode that teaches players how to effectively hunt demons in a standalone mode.
Basically a training mode, the new Void Mode allows you to mess around with different weapons and styles, with the usual practice mode style options, like the ability to see how much damage you are doing, or turning off damage so you can go nuts. This go around, you can play as Dante, Nero, and a new character named V, and you can watch em getting nuts in the video below, which shows off some finer points of Void Mode.
Devil May Cry 5 releases for Xbox One, PS4, and PC on March 8, 2019.
