Crusader Kings II: Holy Fury is the newest expansion to Paradox Development's strategy role-playing game, and it's time to saddle up and get to chopping. This expansion throws a lot of fresh features at players, with special new challenges designed to test vets of the genre, like Shattered and Random World starts for the game.
In the Shattered world, no one controls more than one country, so you'll have to do the best with what you have, but at least it will be an overall level playing field. Random world, on the other hand, includes historic kingdoms, empires and religions, in an attempt to create a fictional world that mirrors our own. There are also Warrior Lodges, where you can join a Pagan warrior lodge and raid your way up the ranks, unlocking access to ride or die allies and greater military skills overall.
Another interesting addition are the Legendary Bloodlines, where you'll be able to mix it up with descendants of great warrior heroes who will have bonuses that match the accomplishments of their forefathers, including historical bloodlines like Charlemagne, Genghis Khan and others. Hate to see what Genghis Khan's skills are going to be, because that was a savage, savage man.
Other features include the ability to sway or antagonize your neighbors, the ability to grant sainthood, the religious goodness of mass baptisms, coronations, new crusade events and more.
Holy Fury is available now for $19.99 at the Paradox Store.
