Firebrand Games' space puzzler, Solar Flux just got a release date for the Switch, which is headed our way on December 11th. The game was previously released on Steam and various mobile platforms, but it's finally getting that sweet console treatment, and the Switch is pretty well-suited to the title.

In Solar Flux, players control a ship that's been tasked with reigniting the cores of stars on the brink of burning out, a job that is about as difficult as it sounds. To accomplish this daunting endeavor, players will have to collect balls of plasma and then fire them into the heart of the dying stars. Of course, the natural dangers of space present hazards to the player as they dodge through asteroids, black holes, and the still-blazing stars themselves.

Simple to play, but with a ton of depth, Solar Flux aims for "a combination of traditional puzzle mechanics, coupled with the serene beauty and unknown that are everywhere outside of our world," according to the game's creative director, Alex Knight. With a total of 80 missions that take place across four different galaxies, the developer went as detailed as they could with their world, which is no real surprise; they are located right at the heart of the United States' space program in Cape Canaveral.

The teaser trailer, while not especially long, shows off the ship as it works toward its mission by collecting plasma orbs and launching them to the stars. Check it out below, and if this is your thing, keep an eye out for the title when it drops on the 11th of December.
