I feel like the "youtube generation", as they say, is some good stuff with a lot of crap mixed in. The same format that produces videos for, say, how to change your transmission or beat a Dark Souls boss, which is awesome, also produced that complete piece of shit who filmed dead bodies in a suicide forest. Not saying this game is responsible for that, just that I find it sad how youtube's most famous "personalities" can often seem like the most narcissistic scum the US has to offer. The fact that we make these people famous is the really sad part.
But maybe I am just getting old and should move over for endless videos of idiots talking about how great they are, while millions of young people desperately try to emulate their "success", which basically just comes down to attention whoring. Youtubers Life is a life simulation game with "business simulation elements", and influences from the Game Dev Tycoon and The Sims video games. In this title, the player manages a character who is trying to build a career as a YouTube personality, so you'll be doing what it takes to become a "youtube sensation" like managing the creation of videos for their channel, managing their character's education and social life, and as the character develops, the player also must manage their character's employees and growing content network. Opportunities to create videos for friends, creating videos through advertising agreements, and the revenue generated by each video's ads will lead to the character purchasing upgrades to their equipment and housing, and access resources to level up their character's skills.
If you think this is something you want to play, I suppose it's better than trying to do it in real life. Check out the trailer below, the game is out now.
