Dark Souls has a soft spot in almost every gamer's heart. The difficulty, the world, the lore, the enemy design, the difficulty, the triumph, the rage, and the fond memory of screaming at a TV, calling it a bastard-man, knowing that your latest in a long string of losses is alllllll your fault, and no one elses. Ah, to be young and play Dark Souls again.
I have so many games on my plate at any given time, it is difficult to spend much time replaying anything; there's always the next deadline, the next game or the next breaking story, so having the time to really sink into a 40-90 hour replay is a luxury I often cannot afford. When Dark Souls remastered came out, I knew that I would have to pass completely, or really carve out some time to play, both of which are very difficult decisions.
Then... I saw the HD opener.
Damn you, Dark Souls. Damn you.
If you haven't seen it, I have made it available for your viewing pleasure below, but be warned that viewing said video may immediately make you close the browser, get in your car, drive to your nearest retailer (not Gamestop, those people that business is the devil) and fork over your hard-earned money for a copy.
Dark Souls remastered is out on the Switch now.
