Unfortunately, free will rears its unpleasant head, and your control over your worshippers will not be total. I can already tell this is going to eventually go all vengeful old testament.
In a world where worship means everything, and the number of followers is directly related to the success of a deity (you), you'll need to prevent other gods from converting your followers, while also increasing your own ranks by continuing the spread of your brand new religion. Obviously, this will make conflict inevitable, and players will face their rivals in ritual combat known as Sacraments, which hopefully is just as cool as it sounds. These battles can only be won if players diligently prepare their most trusted worshipers in advance, using rituals to strengthen their faith for the upcoming combat. To God goes the glory!
