You want free games. We have free games. It's not that complicated an equation. This time around, we're giving away City of Chains, a dark, science-fiction action-RPG set in a huge, dystopian city.

You begin the game as Holt Allaway, a skilled engineer who specializes in robots, from construction to programming. After being approached by the government who are looking to enlist his services for a military program that builds battle droids, Holt declines, not wanting to create weapons of war. He assumed his refusal wouldn't be met with jubilation, but he never expected that the government would frame him, accuse him of conspiring with an underground, anti-government group, and convicting him of a crime he didn't commit. 

In short, Holt is screwed.


After being arrested, Holt is taken to a holding facility where, after his brutal interrogation, he faces three possible fates; execution, unwilling organ donor, or as a laborer in a ultra-max security prison. His interrogation is a lot of fun, and he's waiting for his assigned fate when machines attack the holding facility, remotely controlled by a mysterious individual calling himself Cai. Now free, Holt joins forces and escapes with a scientist named Chloe and an assassin named Lorelei, only to realize that wanted fugitives have no where to turn.

With no allies, few resources, and the government police hot on their heels, they must find any means to survive and escape this condemned city - a City of Chains.
