Creative Assembly’s upcoming strategy title Total War: Three Kingdoms just got pushed for a second time. This isn't exactly a bad thing, since the battles definitely needed some work based on what we've seen and the previous build. Seeing as how this is the most ambitious title in the series, it'd be better to get a delay than get some half baked combat everyone is going to deride. People ted to get all pissy about games getting pushed back, but it usually ends up being a good thing, as the devs will have more time to polish what they have and eliminate rough spots and problems.

Rob Bartholomew, Studio Brand Director at Creative Assembly. had the following to say, which is the usual:

“We’re lucky to be in a position to do the right thing for our games, and in this case, it means taking the time to get everything ready for you. It’s important that we give you a game that you can enjoy to the fullest, and we’re excited for you to see what we have in store.”

About what I expected them to say. Like the games before it, Total War: Three Kingdoms is a turn-based strategy real-time tactics game, which is set in the "Three Kingdoms" period. Players control one of the game's eleven factions(!!), and it's your job to eliminate all other factions, unify China and of course become the supreme ruler of the country. You'll control infantry and cavalry units on the battlefield, which you command with your generals.

The release date is now set for 23rd May 2019.
