10 Tons, the guys behind Tesla Vs Lovecraft are making another top down adventure title, although this one has a rather grisly twist. This game looks (and probably plays) a little like Brutal Legend, the Jack Black helmed action adventure title from the 00's that was a ton of fun. The idea here seems to be the same; a "hero" type character who runs around, summoning minions to do his bidding, and that bidding is generally kicking everyone's ass. The main hook of Undead Horde is that you, a Necromancer, can re-animate almost any dead creature you encounter, raising up an army that you can sick on enemies as you please. Your undead warriors can come from multiple sources, including corpses in the battlefield, graves, and ultimately summoning statues, which have to first be unlocked to be used. The only factor limiting your scourge will be the command capacity of the Necromancer, which you can boost in a few ways throughout the game.
Undead Horde is aiming to be a mashup of Diablo, Overlord, and Pikmin, which is a ballsy move. Set in a fantasy world where the living have driven the undead into exile and the main protagonist, Orcen the Necromancer was imprisoned in a magical urn by the paladins, probably for getting up to undead shenanigans. After a chicken accidentally breaks the urn and releases Orcen, he immediately decides to raise the dead, form his army and take back the world from the paladins and the living.
