Final Fantasy X and X2 are getting the remaster treatment and why not? Resident Evil 2 is crushing it and chewing up the charts, and it looks like the market (you) is hungry for more. Originally developed by Square (now Square Enix) on the PlayStation 2 in the early 2000s, Final Fantasy X tells the story of a star blitzball player, Tidus, who goes on a quest with a summoner named Yuna. Guess what they'll be doing? That's right, saving the world, in this case, called Spira. The second title, Final Fantasty X-2 returns to the world of Spira two years after the beginning of the Eternal Calm. Having been shown a mysterious but familiar image in a sphere, Yuna becomes a Sphere Hunter and along with her companions Rikku and Paine, embarks on a quest to solve mysterious mysteries and, you guessed it... save the world.
So what do you get, besides another crack at two pretty solid FF titles? Over 100 hours of combined gameplay, and the aforementioned tasty HD remaster, for one. The package also features story content previously only found in the International versions, and a new audio drama set a year after the events of X-2. The collection also gets graphical and musical revisions and is based on the international versions of both games, making certain content accessible to players outside of Japan for the first time, so if you haven't checked these out, this is the version you're going to want to play.
FINAL FANTASY X/X-2 HD Remaster is available now on PS4, PS3, Vita and Steam, and it will also be available for Xbox and the Switch in 2019.
