Warner Bros and IO Interactive have a model going with Hitman that I wish more in the industry would follow. Not only did they not include any bullshit microtransactions in their game, they keep giving away free stuff, which is awesome. Today, the duo announced that the Hitman 2 Starter Pack is available for free, which lets players experience the full Hawke's Bay (New Zealand) location along with the opening campaign mission "Nightcall" along with the challenges and unlocks within that environment. The level is set against the backdrop of Hawke's Bay's moonlit beaches where gamers can begin their journey into the World of Assassination as Agent 47 tries to infiltrate a fancy ass oceanside property. All progression earned from playing will carry over into the full game as added incentive to get in.
Also, the Elusive Target No. 4 (The Politician), will be available beginning March 8 and ending on March 17 within the Hawke's Bay location, so you can get in on the one time chance to smoke Dame Barbara Elizabeth Keating (a.k.a. "The Politician"). Dame Barbara is a disgraced former New Zealand Minister of Trade and Foreign Affairs who was forced to resign after the discovery of her charity funneling funds to her offshore coffers. She shucks the blame, thinks she has it made, and you have ten days to prove her wrong. By, you know, shooting her.
Hitman 2 is available for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
