Overwhelm has an interesting idea for a genre that has been done in about every way you can possibly imagine. Headed to the Nintendo Switch on April 4th and featuring an exclusive co-op mode, you'll be able to play through the game locally with a friend, working together to destroy the evil hive, battling together and reviving each other when you go down. The twist here is that defeating each of the five bosses will give the hive's creatures additional abilities, so you'll have to choose wisely when deciding which boss to take out when.
The game features one hit deaths and three deaths mean you are finished and the run is over. You'll need to make smart decisions on each playthrough to figure out which is the best order to take out the big bads so you don't screw yourself over in later levels. Overwhelm also leans into their "soundscape" aiming for a sparse but powerful sound that is aimed at both keeping you scared and keeping you crapping your pants. You know this bad boy is going to be rocking synth like you wouldn't believe.
Keep an eye out when the game drops in early April and check out the video below to see the game in action.
