Conan Unconquered Is A Bloodthirsty New RTS

Conan has had a rough time lately, from the lukewarm reception to the online game to the anticipated but never quite materializing "Old Man Conan" film that seems to be forever lurking in limbo. Perhaps this upcoming Conan title, called "Conan Unconquered" will be a bright spot for Conan fans.

Heading to PC about halfway through 2019, Conan Unconquered is the first-ever strategy game set in the savage world of Conan the Barbarian. Developed by the Command & Conquer veterans at Petroglyph, you'll build your stronghold and assemble an army to survive the savage hordes trying to tear your civilization asunder. Wave after wave of increasingly difficult enemies will rush your gates, and you'll have to act fast and think faster as you manage resources, research new technologies to advance your defenses, either alone or in two-player co-op.


When playing together, players share a base, but both can freely construct new buildings and amass an army to reach their common goal. As is most titles in the genre, the gameplay is in real-time, but you can also pause at any time to issue commands and start construction of new buildings, which is nice for when things get hectic. You'll fight against evil baddies and wild beasts, but you'll also have to contend with fires raging through your stronghold and piles of corpses spreading death and disease, unless of course, you can get a necromancer in there to turn the bodies into an advantage.
