This game plays on themes of death, fatherhood and everyone's favorite, abducted, possibly murdered, possibly malevolent children. Someday You'll Return is a narrative-driven psychological horror game with strong adventure elements, where you take the place of Daniel, who has a daughter named Stela. Stela is your runaway daughter who makes a habit out of taking off, but this time feels different, so you set out to find her. While searching for your juvenile delinquent daughter, you're forced by events to return to a place that you swore never return to, the ancient Moravian forests, where some not so great shit went down.
While the story contains strong horror elements, the game promises that it's not always the most obvious monsters that will be the most frightening. While your survival skills and quick wits may advance your search, malevolent forces rise up to keep you and Stela apart. As your search leads deep into both the woods and your mind, you'll have to use your wits and stealth to find your daughter, as the game has no combat. What it does have, is a workbench crafting interface, steady use of herbalism (you can pick up flowers or mushrooms and make your own potions), interaction with your environment, a smartphone, karmic system, tracking abilities and more.
