We reported on this way back in September, but haven't heard much of anything since, especially over the fan's thunderous roar of disapproval when they heard that the mobile Diablo title, Diablo Immortal, had the gall to not be Diablo 4 on PC.
It all began when Boom! Studios founder Andrew Cosby tweeted about being in final talks to be the showrunner (and writer) of an all new animated Diablo series on Netflix. No news has come in since then, but a new Diablo trademark registration has reportedly been spotted, reading, "Downloadable films and movies featuring narratives based on a video game and provided via a video-on-demand service".
The application was filed by Blizzard Entertainment on March 8, 2019, and we'll let you know more when we do. In the meantime, relive the disappointment all over again by watching the Diablo Immortal trailer below.
