Promising that "arcade racing is back," Sodesco just revealed a high octane launch trailer for their futuristic Xenon Racer, which becomes available both digitally and physically tomorrow for the Switch, PS4 and Xbox One, as well as Steam.
As you can see in the trailer below, there's a ton of customization options for the vehicles in Xenon Racer. Besides the usual stuff like changing the looks of a given car with several different skins and paint jobs, players can also swap out parts in order to change the statistics and performance. Every track predictably has different requirements, so players will have to discover which car and what parts are most effective in order to make your racer the fastest on the track. Then, there's drifting. Don't even get me started on the straight up drifting in this bitch. This game utilizes drifting and boosting so hard, I mean that drifting is so straight-up key to winning in this game, the title could be F"ast and the Furious: Xenon Drift and Boost". It's that real.
Created using the Unreal Engine, the cars all look like they came out of a Tesla wet dream, but they were actually designed by Marcello Raeli, most known for his work with brands like Subaru, Ferrari and Koenigsegg. The designs won't go to waste, either, since Xenon Racer has both a performance mode and quality mode, which both run at a tight 4K resolution. In quality mode, the graphical settings are at their highest and the frame rate never drops below 30 FPS. In performance mode, some graphical settings are turned down a bit to guarantee a steady 60 FPS.
