Havocado is, at it's core, a ridiculous, hyper-speed multiplayer physics fighting game. You'll spend your time on a series of locations (one being a weird ass island) shooting, punching, driving, and using magic to eliminate your fellow players, in a last man standing type situation. However, you're not limited to the confines of the idyllic island setting, as you can also be stranded in a multitude of other locations: slug it out in a boxing arena, for example, or turn an oil rig into a glorified slip n slide. The strange choice here, is that you are basically controlling a gumby. All the characters are thoroughly ill-equipped to drive, use weapons or operate heavy machinery. They basically all control like drunk toddlers.
All this strangeness is the debut from Webble Games, founded by Havocado aficionado Jordi Maxim van den Bussche aka YouTuber, Kwebbelkop. Ol Kwebbelkop thinks he has his finger right on the pulse of the average youtube, uh, watcher, and he has the following super confident opinion about Webble's first foray into games production:
"I've been playing games since I was a little kid; obviously, more recently as a YouTuber. I know what YouTubers want, I know what they are looking for, so why not give it to them? This together with my passion for entertainment and a life-long dream of creating my own games inspired me to start Webble Games. With Havocado, I looked pretty exhaustively, at games that worked for YouTube but never really took off for gamers. I played all these games and found, I think, what didn't work so well for gamers. So, really — by process of elimination — we arrived at Havocado. I pitched this to our new Webble team and together we made a game which isn't only good fun to play but also really fun to watch."
Interesting. Sounds like he's got this all figured out and this game will be a bonafide hit.
See if Nostradamus is correct when Havocado arrives on Steam EA next month on April 25th.
