In Monster Sanctuary, you'll be collecting, training and battling monsters in a bright, colorful pixelated world. There are plenty of monsters to find and collect and they will all roll hard with you, helping you to bust up your enemies and do the things you need them to do, albeit with a little training first. These aren't vanilla monsters either, as each has a unique skill tree that allows you to customize and tailor your party as you see fit. There is the usual "epic adventure" that will call on you to rise above your station and blah, blah, blah, but the important distinction between this game and others is chilling with monsters through a Metroid -inspired world.
It's a cool concept that Moi Rai is going with here; instead of you gaining new powers, the powers of your monsters will grow and change as you customize them to your play-style and as is necessary, depending on what you need them to do while exploring the world you are inhabiting. So, depending on what you need, you can get your monsters to cut down vines, smash down walls or glide over gaps, or whatever the situation calls for. You're the Monster Keeper, so you decide what you want from your monsters.
A demo is currently available on Steam and the game will be heading to Steam EA in 2019, because what is the point of releasing a completed game anymore?
A free demo is available now on Steam to download if you want to check it out.
