Pathologic 2, a re-imagining of the original cult classic title (released in 2005) is a narrative-driven survival thriller that plops you into the middle of a secluded rural town, where a deadly plague is ravaging the countryside. Unlike traditional story-heavy titles that take players by the hand and guide them down a linear path, the world of Pathologic is aiming to be rather unpredictable and merciless. Also, there's a bunch of freaky kids in it, which is never a good thing.
The story of the deadly plague unfolds over 12 days, and the game wants you to know that there's not going to be enough time to save everyone. A look at the macabre trailer shows that a lot of people have already died, with more on the way, so that's a bit obvious. A combination of survival and RPG elements will be at the core of Pathologic, with a strong story that has unique approaches to death, where each time you die, it takes a permanent toll on your character and the town, so no reloading your last checkpoint to undo anything.
