It's that special time, where you get games for free that are just good enough to download, but not really good enough to actually play after you do; that's right, Microsoft just announced the April lineup of free Games with Gold. Xbox One is getting The Technomancer and Outcast - Second Contact, while Xbox 360 owners will get the original Star Wars Battlefront 2 and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2.
The Technomancer is an action role-playing video game set within the same universe as Spiders' previously developed game, Mars: War Logs. The game is set during the War of Water, 200 years after humans colonized Mars. You are a rookie technomancer named Zachariah from Abundance, one of the powerful corporations on the red planet, who is on the run from the secret police.
The Outcast: Second Contact is an action-adventure video game developed by Appeal and released by Infogrames for Windows in 1999. The game was critically acclaimed, and named the "Adventure Game of the Year" by GameSpot in 1999. The game is a remake, and follows and idiotically named "Cutter" who, in 2007, after the U.S. government successfully sends a probe to an alien world in a parallel universe, has to go figure out how to stop a black hole from destroying earth. After arriving on the alien world with three scientists, Cutter is separated from the others is hailed by the natives as their messiah, the Ulukai. Time to shoot the "bad" aliens, obviously.
