In celebration of the one year anniversary of Marvel Strike Force, FoxNext Games is launching Alliance War, a big-ass update which allows players to compete in head to head battles for reward payouts and leaderboard glory. Woooo.
Alliance War brings some new strategic gameplay, PVP competition and "alliances" which are player teams with a fancy name, where you come together to defend (and customize) helicarriers, so... you'll have them for later? Cuz helicarriers are always saving the day, so it's good to protect them at all costs, I suppose. You'll protect these bastions of - no, actually you know what? Why the hell are there even helicarriers in the first place? We've all seen the Avengers movies, helicarriers get punked out at every turn. They're just big flaming targets floating in the sky. These are marines with families to come home to piloting these behemoths, and we're going to throw em in the middle of multiple fights between gods? That's kind of bullshit.
Anyhow, there are 12 rooms to defend in your death-trap Helicarrier, so you are gonna want a pretty stacked roster to open up new strategies and defenses for your alliances. Just like Blitz, Arena, and Raids, Alliance War will also have a store with a dedicated currency, and all players will have the opportunity to compete for rewards from individual war earnings that can be spent in the War Store.
So, there you go. The new update is live now, go watch a bunch of helicarriers burn to the ground, and maybe spare a thought for the pilot's wife and kids.
