In honor of 25 years of id Software’s shoot em up franchise, DOOM, this year’s QuakeCon will have a ton of hell-themed activities and events that act as a retrospective of the last quarter century of demon killing ultra-violence, plus a look forward at DOOM Eternal. Founded in 1996, QuakeCon has grown into a massive gaming festival, with more than 12,000 fans from around the globe attending in 2018.
QuakeCon: Year of DOOM will still focus on the "QuakeCon experience" that the diehards have come to expect, with massive BYOC lan parties, panels, hands-on booths with games from Bethesda and a bunch more Quake-related stuff, but there will also be a hard DOOM lean as well, which I don't think many people are going to bitch about. There are also some unannounced, "surprises [Bethesda isn't] quite ready to talk about" although, I suppose that in a way, they were just announced by me.
Here's all the info on registration and whatnot that you'll need to know for the free event taking place July 25-28 at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Dallas, TX.
Registration Opens April 11
Registration for QuakeCon: Year of DOOM opens at Thursday, April 11 at 10 ET. Check out the newly revamped website at www.quakecon.org and get ready to be one of the lucky people to experience this once-in-a-lifetime celebration.
This year, the registration process will be slightly different from years past – BYOC players will not choose a seat when they register. Seat selection will take place at a later date which will be announced soon.
