Normally, we don't report on "non-news" stuff like this, but we got a lot of Romero Games fans in the office, and this is potentially exciting news. Of course, my Aunt Ginny said she had some news for me and that could have been potentially exciting, but it wasn't. It was average as shit, run of the mill family news. My point is, everything has "potential" to be one thing or another, so don't get overly hyped until we get some concrete news, alright?
In any event, publisher and developer, Paradox Interactive and Romero Games just announced they are working together on an upcoming strategy game based on an original IP. Brenda Romero and John Romero, who are known for their work with Doom, Quake, Jagged Alliance, Wizardry 8 and a ton more, are bringing their expertise to the partnership with Paradox Interactive, who have published Cities: Skylines, Crusader Kings II, Stellaris and a few other hardcore strategy titles.
While we don't have any inside info on the project, Brenda Romero had this to say: "This has been a project we've been wanting to work on for a long time, so it's especially exciting that we'll be partnering with Paradox Interactive to fully realize that dream. We can't wait to tell everyone more, so make sure you watch this space!"
The space in question is right here; a link to a news letter that will send you more info when it comes available.
