This looks quite close to Resident Evil which makes a lot of sense; Invader Studios was working on a remake of Resident Evil 2 once upon a time, before it switched hands and was released as a juggernaut that we got a few months back. It seems as though their work will not be for nothing though, as they've used the experience to come up with Daymare 1998, a new survival horror IP.
The trailer isn't exactly expansive, but it will give you the tone they're going for. You assume the role of a H.A.D.E.S. agent (Hexacore Advanced Division For Extraction and Search), who is dispatched to an outbreak in small town. If you couldn't tell from the "1998" on the title, the game is intentionally going for a throwback angle, and the dialogue and gravitas seems to be a bit tongue and cheek.
Here's the official synopsis: DAYMARE: 1998 is a third-person survival horror game that recreates the mood of iconic titles from the '90s, with a fresh storyline. An incident that turns a small town into a deadly zone, three characters to play with and little time to find the truth, before its mutated citizens abruptly end your mission.
Daymare 1998 is set for a summer 2019 release on PC, with PS4 and Xbox One versions following.
