Mortal Kombat 11 had some difficulties when it launched last week, and I'm not just talking about the unwashed masses screaming about how MK11 went SJW. The Tower of Time is apparently super hard, with a vicious difficulty spike at the tail end and gamers are throwing a hissy. The devs have heard the outrage, and are making moves to fix it in the form of a patch and a "thank you for understanding" gift.
The freebie includes 500,000 Koins, 500 Hearts, 1,000 Soul Fragments, and 1,000 Time Krystals for your troubles and when the patch lands, the AI will get a tweak in the form of reduced difficulty, and there will be an increase in Kurrency rewards in the Towers of Time. The patch should be arriving this week.
MK 11's plot picks up directly where MK X left off, and follows the defeat of Shinnok's defeat at the hands of Cassie Cage. Once the now-corrupted Raiden decapitates Shinnok, which triggers Kronika, Shinnok's mother and keeper of time, to rewrite history in order to stop Raiden's interference. A Special Forces strike team led by Sonya Blade, Cassie, and Jacqui Briggs assaults the main cathedral in the Netherrealm, with Raiden providing a diversion to aid them. The team succeeds in destroying the base at the cost of Sonya's life. Kronika creates an alliance with Liu Kang and Kitana before causing temporal anomalies.
MK 11 is out now on PC, PS4, Xbox One and the Switch.
