Orphans: like my father always said, you either love them or hate them. Regardless of where you fall, there are just a couple of weeks to go until the release of A Plague Tale: Innocence, where you will be controlling an orphan and desperately trying to keep her away from guards and hordes of seemingly supernatural rats. If you like orphans, great! Lead them away from the rats! If you don't, lead them into the dank underbelly of the sewers, put the controller down and go get a sandwich... but leave the video capture running.
The first major self-made IP by Asobo Studio follows protagonists Amicia and her little brother Hugo, a pair of dirty orphans on the run from the Inquisition. The youngsters will also need to survive an even greater danger, in the form of supernatural swarms of rats that appeared with the great plague, infecting cities and countryside alike. Amicia is a street-wise urchin, but unfortunately, her brother Hugo is weak, young and sickly; not an ideal combo. However, as shown in the video below, his smaller stature is able to keep them both safe at some key moments, so you might as well keep him around. You'll meet other helpful orphans who are thieves, alchemists, and more, who will teach Amicia new skills and provide new tools to hide, escape, and even kill.
A Plague Tale: Innocence will release for PS4, Xbox and PC.
