Pathologic 2, is the re-imagining of the cult classic Pathologic (2005), and they are cranking the weird factor up to 11, which is just fine by us. A narrative-forward survival thriller set in a secluded rural town, the place has been having one of those deadly plague issues, and unfortunately, it's ravaging the countryside. Unlike similar story-heavy titles, the devs are taking pains to not hold hands, making the world of Pathologic unpredictable and merciless. Also, there's a bunch of terrifying kids in it, which is never a good thing, because despite their small size and punt-ability, kids are always up to something..
The story unfolds over 12 days, and it's clear there's not enough time to save everyone (especially those freaky ass kids). This new trailer lets you know that a ton of people are already dead, so you know the stakes going in. A combination of survival and RPG elements will be at the core of Pathologic 2, with a strong story that has unique approaches to death; every time you die, it takes a permanent toll on your character and the town, so there will be no sissy reloading your last checkpoint/quick save to undo anything.
Once you do it, it's done. Watch the trailer below, and keep an eye out when this drops on the 23rd.
