It's been a hell of a ride, but the final DLC of the Two Worlds II saga is coming to a close. Not to say that there won't be a Two Worlds III down the line (we're personally hoping for an announcement in the near future), but as far as Two Worlds II goes, this will be it.
After the events of last year's Echoes of the Dark Past II, which involved an insane, genocidal, half mechanical rat shaman (which is as awesome as it sounds) Shattered Embrace picks up directly afterwards, with Dar Pha revealing her true heritage to the Hero. From there, the Hero and his misfit posse finally get to travel to the lost Elven city that has been hinted at over and over again throughout the series, to prevent what is basically an apocalypse level event that is perpetrated by a cell of rat terrorists.
Yeah. It sounds pretty rad.
This DLC will introduce players to a brand new island, plenty of badlands and forests, and at some point you will even be able to travel to a red dimension of hell, because really, why not go out with a bang? There will be dozens of new weapons to try, new armor, magic, crafting and more, plus guilds, new characters and old allies. Clocking in around ten hours or so, you can expect a slew of sidequests in addition to the main game.
If you are a Two Worlds II season pass holder, you'll get the DLC automatically when it launches, and it sounds like the release date, although unannounced at the time of this article, will definitely be this year. Stay tuned.
