Reading; so popular, people are even doing it on screens these days. If you're a fan of the old visual novel, well, I've got good news for you. The "fantasy epic" and oddly, "furry adventure" Winds of Change, has officially released its entire first act for free on Steam ahead of its September 24th launch out of Early Access. Free furry epic!
Blending elements of open-world RPGs, point-and-click adventures, and visual novels, Winds of Change sounds like it is truly a beast all its own (see what I did there?), jammed with both player choice and a fully voice-acted story. Not only that, but the voiced narrative features talents from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Persona 5, Mob Psycho 100 and Danganronpa, so we're taking about top tier stuff here. As you may assume, if you play through Winds of Change - The Opening Act, you can carry over your progress and choices if you buy the complete novel.
If that isn't enough, the visual novel is an open world featuring a non-linear narrative: Players choose where they travel and who they talk with as they adventure across Alestia, expanding upon visual novel narrative stylings in a world that encourages exploration, where you can phase into parallel stories, insofar as you can use seer abilities to transport yourself into the bodies of others in order to get a glimpse of stories unfolding all over the world.
Winds of Change The First Act is available now on Steam.
