After Re-Legion's release, the developers have kept working and listening to their player community's prayers to add new features and a ton of improvements. The general consensus was that Re-Legion had great ideas, namely a big twist on the RTS genre where you build an army of followers instead of buildings and units, but the execution left something to be desired. To be more specific, the game introduced a resource management system where you build your army of followers by converting neutral citizens or even your own enemies to join your cause. You create your cult, build your army of faithful followers, take over the city and destroy the enemy sanctuary to become the one true Prophet.
Now, Holy Wars releases on June 14th and will include a Skirmish mode, which is a big addition to Re-Legion's story campaign, plus numerous other updates. In the new Skirmish mode, you'll fight against the AI cult for domination over the city, citizens' souls and to prove that you are the true and only Prophet. Choose the difficulty and the strategy that will be used against you by the AI, select the map that you want to play, and the creed of the Cult you wish to control. Every creed gives you a different set of skills and dogmas, providing you with diverse ways to annihilate your enemies.
Apart from the Skirmish mode, this new (and free) update will introduce a number of community suggested features like Slow-Mo, which allows you to slow down time, letting you observe the battlefield from a new perspective and analyze the situation. You can give out orders and use units' skills to tip the scales in your favor, which should go a long way towards making battles smoother.
Let's hope this fixes what's been ailing the title when it drops on June 14th.
