Waking is a rather emotional action adventure title with a unique premise. The game is entirely set in your own mind as you lay in a coma. Basically, the entirety of the experience takes place in your own subconscious, and it's up to you whether or not you decide to give in to the forces of darkness and slowly descend into death, or fight back, refusing to go gently into death's embrace. If you decide to prevail over eternal night, you will have to use the only weapons you have: your most treasured memories and the people you love.

That's right, you'll spend your time revisiting your most treasured memories and confronting your fears and desires. These are pretty wide ranging, from meeting a pet that died long ago or even people that you love or once loved. You'll need to fight the demons within you and deal with your childhood traumas in a unique mix of souls-like challenging combat, a vast ever-changing world and a deep meditational experience of "unmatched emotional range".
