Spawn will be a playable fighter in one of Mortal Kombat 11's upcoming character releases, and we are pumped. Yeah, we know you've only just started playing with Shang Tsung, but it's time to look to the future, alright? Quit living in the past.
Spawn is a, well, hellspawn who was once a human named Al Simmons. After being murdered during a mission in Botswana, Simmons is sent to Hell due to his life as an assassin. After he makes a deal with Malebolgia (aka the devil) Simmons agrees to become a Hellspawn and serve Malebolgia if he is allowed to see his wife, Wanda, one last time. Malebolgia agrees, and returns Simmons to the living realm, but stripped of nearly all his memories, with a badly burned body, and a demonic guardian named the Violator on his ass. Also, years have passed and his wife has long since moved on.
Ouch.
Spawn will be a fighter in MK11, and the voice actor who played the character in the TV series, Keith David, is back for the role You gotta assume Spawn will be using his signature chains and demonic powers to kick everyone's ass in the Netherrealm. Check out the video reveal here.
