A Farewell to BigB from the DLH Team

An Obituary for BigB

We have just learned today that our editor-in-chief passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on December 24, 2014. Bernd Wolffgramm, better known as BigB, was one of the pioneers of the German gaming industry. He was there before the World Wide Web was a thing, and his extensive database of cheats and guides helped many of us get through the early years of our lives as gamers. 

Back then, only Bernd had the imagination and far-sightedness to think that such an ambitious project could be successful, not to mention the dedication to see it through. 20 years ago, he created Dirty Little Helper to provide us with cheats, walkthroughs, and news for games on every platform. He was the brain, the heart, and the soul of DLH, and managed to keep his “baby” safe and sound through all these years, when many other gaming sites have come and gone. It could not be any more tragic that Bernd’s exciting journey through the world of gaming, which took him from Kiel in northern Germany, through Hannover and Bonn, came to a final stop in Ettlingen near Karlsruhe on Christmas Eve, exactly 20 years to the day since DLH was launched. At just 47 years old, Bernd left us much too soon.


All of us on the DLH team are deeply mourned by his passing, and it’s incredibly difficult to say goodbye to such a good man. So Bernd, old friend, we wish you all the best as you reach the next level…
