JOEL, YOU HAVE CONVINCED ME THAT YES, I AM CORRECT. THIS SHOW SUCKS! I WILL NOT WATCH SEASON 7! I WILL INVEST MY TIME IN SOMETHING ELSE, SOMETHING THAT IS GOOD. BRAVO, JOEL! SHOOT ME AN EMAIL OR COMMENT FOR YOUR KEY!

I need some advice and you probably need a free game or two.

First off, I've read the bulk of the comic series. Let's get that fact out of the way.

Now, for an unpopular statement.

I'm not a huge fan of the show. In fact, I think it sucks. Even though I've seen most all of it, albeit with a healthy dose of fast forwarding.

Why watch so much of a crappy show? I wanted to love it. Episode one was perfect (directed by the straight gangster, Frank Darabont, director of The Shawshank Redemption), and most of season one was pretty good.

And I'm not that guy, ok? That guy that says, "The book is wayyyy better than the movie". “No kidding dude. It's apples and oranges for one and for two, yeah, the book is always better, because a book can have 1,000 pages and a movie gets two hours.”

But the comic has a feel. A desperation, a dread, a feeling like anything can happen at any time and no one is safe. In the comic, the reason the character's deaths take you by surprise, is because Rick's group is so. Friggin. Cautious! They are always careful, always on guard, always scavenging. It's a learned way of life and in this one-hit-kill world, if you aren’t cautious, you die and you probably will anyways. It’s brutal.

But the show is lacking. It lacks the ambiance, the tension and all the things I just described about the comic, the show tries and mostly fails. And it pisses me off, because this isn't a film, it's a show with seven seasons, and each are 10+ hours long! There's tons of time for world-building and hours and hours of potential slow-burn setup. But it's squandered on Carol yapping away, or (shudder) Andrea scenes. It's infuriating, especially when the book is so good.

Check the blueprint, dumbass. It's right there.

But I want your opinion. Again, I’ve seen most of the show, so I’m already “caught up” as it were, but should I even bother, even having it on in the background while I clean up or whatever? I've heard pretty negative things about season 7, and I already think the last three seasons were pretty damn weak.

What do I do?

The top most convincing arguments get random STEAM keys. Or a couple. I'll think about it.

I watched this series for 3 seasons and it was very nice but in recent times it was a bad series 3.

he only reason I will be returning to TWD's next season is because its following the comics pretty much 70% of the time now which is fine by me. I do wish it would be more than that but its enough to keep me at least a little entertained. I really do need them to fix their CGI problem though because that's been a huge turn off for me more than anything else. All in all I will continue to watch it because I'm very curious as to where it will all unfold.beautiful series

I agree that the show has declined rapidly from season to season, I think the narrative is being stretched too thin. Most stories would be resolved by now, stretching a narrative like this seems to be diluting the quality heavily.

I would probably just skip it and pick up a new series to watch, if the show gets better somehow in the future consider catching up on the show then, otherwise don't waste your time.

Ok so im not that into the walking dead but i will say this- at least try it, shows sometimes completely change from season to season and the walking dead kills off alot of characters but they might add some that you really like, besides, watching a show you dont like for a couple hours isnt really a huge investment, so why not? Thanks, hope you take my advice

also i came here to dlh for steam keys, but i do mean what i said
